Kosovo

Kosovo is a landlocked territory in Southeast Europe, located in the central part of the Balkan Peninsula. It declared independence from Serbia in February 2008, a move that has been recognized by many countries, but not all, leading to ongoing political disputes. Kosovo is primarily inhabited by ethnic Albanians and has a complex historical background involving various ethnic groups and conflicts, particularly during the Kosovo War in the late 1990s. The capital and largest city is Pristina. Kosovo operates as a parliamentary republic, with its own institutions and government. The status of Kosovo remains a contentious issue in international relations, affecting its recognition and participation in international organizations.
