Football

Football, also known as soccer in some countries, is a team sport played between two teams, each consisting of eleven players. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a spherical ball into the opposing team’s net, primarily using feet, although players can use their bodies (except their hands and arms) to control the ball. The game is played on a rectangular field known as a pitch, with a goal at each end.

Football is governed by specific rules known as the Laws of the Game, which are maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). The sport is played in over 200 countries and is considered the world’s most popular sport, with billions of fans globally. Major international competitions include the FIFA World Cup, UEFA European Championship, and Copa América, among others.

Football’s essence lies in teamwork, strategy, skill, and sportsmanship, making it a significant cultural phenomenon.
